VOICE OF THE IMAGI-NATION (Special Insert) [ED NOTE: The following letter was displayed with alternating criss-crossed lines of text.] Dear VOMbii: I have the heart of a fiend, and nothing gives me more pleasure than to prove it. And that is the sole and only reason why I am writing you a letter. Sluvly [sic "It's lovely"?] paper you use on the cover of VoM. What do you call it? I am planning to bring out another issue of MIND of MAN in the near future, and would adore to mimeo it on that slick grey stuff with the faint blue twill. Mayhap I will. So you propose to print letters exactly as they arrive, do you? Well, let's see you print this one as it stands. Or, Ktiffs that you are, will you back out? I think not; I hope not; but WILL YOU? So much for this letter. Now I must wait for a year or two to find out whether or not you've printed it. If you do, beware! I have an even more scurrilous trick up my tweed sleeve. New Phonetic Spelling Devised to Tell World 5000 Years Hence How to Pronounce Our Language; Signs Teach Grammar HAEVING J fain taim wish yuc w]r hier. It looks queer, doesn't it? But really it is just your old friend, "Having a fine time wish you were here." It is a sample of neo-phonetic spelling, to show the way people thousands of years from now may read our language, if worst comes to worst and the frail thread of our civilization breaks. a̲i̲ ya̲i̲!
