FUNTASY Page 2. AN UNTIED PUBLICATION EDITORIAL STAFF Editor.....Jim Avery Associate..Harry Warner, Jr. ............................................. 1st Assistant Associate Editor....Oscar Zilch 2nd Assistant Associate Editor....Quigley Fugwump 3rd Sneeze.....................Mendelsohn Snagg Consulting Editor.........................Hoy Ping Pong ******************************************************* FUNTASY Vol. I, No. 1. Spring, 1939. Edited at 55 Middle Street, Skowhegan, Maine, by Jim Avery. Publishing office--311 Bryan Place, Hagerston, Md. Any similarity between characters in stories or semi-fiction articles to persons living or dead is purely intentional--and doing a damsite better'n we'd hoped! ........................................................................... -EDITORIAL- -Bright Thoughts on a Cloudy Day- When we first conceived the idea of having a fan mag. of FUNTASY's type, we did our darndest to inveigle our good friend Oscar Zilch to be the Editor-in-chief, but to no avail. He could not be located. We looked everywhere; under tables; in Wollheim's office; and even in Congress--but he could not be unearthed. We later learned that he was in New York editing a professional science-fiction magazine under a sood-nim of course! (We're under oath not to tell which one.) However, we have trapped the mighty Zilch in his lair and conferred upon his sweating brow, the title of our First Assistant Associate Editor. As for our other editors, we're happy to state that by the time this magazine is two days, three hours, and twenty-seven seconds old, they shall move into more luxurious quarters, the red plush walls of their present habitat having gone out of style since their incarceration several years ago. ............................................................................. A few weeks ago there appeared in the SATEVEPOST a little ditty that conveys our mood on certain mornings. In fact, so morose did we become, that a similar poesy drooped from our pen. To wit: I hate Wollheim I hate Michel And if they don't like it, Well, well, well! --------------------------------------------------- (cont. P. 12)
