We know from history that humans seek out knowledge, often for the purpose of disregarding it. Human wisdom includes the non-rational in both thought and action. To determine, once having established the criteria for determining the rational and the non-rational, that the first is always necessarily Good, and the second always necessarily Bad, is to create a Value and think non-rationally. Much of our difficulty springs from the tendency to regard "infinity" and "eternity" as things, rather than merely terms to denote the limitations of our abilities. The No-Value Orientation, then, recognizes the impossibility of "eternal laws" or "The Truth" and recognizes the absence of any ultimate Stability. It recognizes temporary and local stabilities, and assorted and constantly varying local and temporary values for useful tools. It does not accept and particular "Value" as the master of thought and/or action. Within its frame of judgement, the No-Value Orientation may often choose the non-rational as "good" or "desirable" in relation to human affairs. It recognizes that it (the No-Value Orientation itself) is not a cure-all for human ills, and is wryly aware that were it to "take fire", it wd/ soon find itself transformed into an "Eternal Truth" of Non-Value, and become a new departure for predominantly non-rational thought and action. --RWL *********************************** [title underlined] Always Question Points centered in eternal now, I-point seeing now and extending lines that run between my fingers, run beyond my point.
