Community Organization The following procedure is recommended for maximum effectiveness: The same national organizations that formed NCAI should be called together at the community level by a representative group of the organization leaders. Steps at meeting 1. The local organization leaders-with the help of the NCAI-should set forth purposes and program, and form a committee to coordinate the work of local organizations in the field of atomic energy. 2. An address by a scientist or community leader on the importance of atomic education and the necessity of a community organization program to bring atomic information to the people. 3. A business session: Election of a chairman and executive committees on Press and publicity Organizations and special meetings Speakers Bureau Literature Radio Schools and libraries Institute Program Introduced by an intensive press campaign 1. A series of articles on the implications of atomic energy (prepared or suggested by the NCAI) 2. A press release on the introductory meeting 3. Publicity on the forthcoming institute Publicity on the main speaker (a) Adcance press releases (b) Photograohs (c) Press conference for speaker Press releases giving time, place, program of institute 4. Press attendance at institute
