wonder what I'll say, and spend time on paragraphs I'd like to say. Anyway, thank heavens, I can read what I'll say so I won't grope for elusive words. I didn't come out with a Tangen Tribune yet, as there's too much to tell. These carbon sheets I put out each week serve as a diary, since I keep the 7th copy myself. You should see the job I had today. This is end of semester and we sent out notices of overdue books, their prices, and the fact that their bills are payable in the business office. Angry and aggressive denials, huge cataloging and mechanical errors, "finding" them on the shelves after we've searched for them, accusations of forgery by our students help challenges all the goodwill you can muster! "I gave the book to you!" one girl said, "What you did with it I don't know!" "I don't teat books carelessly. I check them in," I told her, "And I must believe in myself because this is what I teach: accurate book handling." It ended with my saying I would not charge her for the book. So much could have happened. {up left margin}: But I wouldn't miss it for the world & wouldn't be elsewhere whether I'm successful or not. With love, May. {up right margin}: Do write again, Jo, you write such clever letters!
