Since 1954 he has been a member of the music faculty of the University of Puerto Rico. Besides his academic duties there, he has been active in the organization of faculty, student, and community musical entities; in the musical direction of theatrical productions; in the conception and execution of musical programs for educational television; and in musical journalism. His feature articles and reviews have appeared in Musical America, the New York Times, and in the South American papers served by the United States Information Service.
