-3- ENTELEK - The Computer Center has some materials from ENTELEK incorporated which conducts the Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) Information Exchange under contract with the Office of Naval Research. The file in the UCC Library contains summaries of operational CAI research documents, descriptions of CAI installations, and addresses of people in the CAI field. Author, subject, KWIC, and bibliographic indexes are available. Please note that the UCC Library does not have all the documents referenced by this file. Manuals - A separate file is kept of the IBM manuals and brochures . A complete reference set of relevant OS/360 manuals can be found in the UCC Library. In addition to S/360 manuals, there are many manuals on file in the library for other IBM Data Processing Systems, such as the 1401 and the 7044. A quarterly IBM Publication KWIC Index contains an alphabetical listing, a machine or system type listing, and a form number listing of these manuals and many other publications available from IBM. In addition, IBM distributes a System Reference Library (SRL) Newsletter periodically, which updates the S/360 Bibliography and indictes the latest version of each manual. Both of these publications are available for reference in the UCC Library. NOTE: MATERIALS FOR COMPUTER COURSES ARE SOLD AT CAMPUS STORES. PROGRAM LIBRARY Sources of programs - Some operations, such as inverting a matrix, computing a chi square value, or producing pseudo-random numbers, are needed frequently in computer work. Many of these fairly standard operations have been programmed previously by others and are made available through the program library located in the UCC Library. The program library includes abstracts and, in some cases, decks and descriptions of programs from the following: BMC, CAACM, COSMIC, IBM, LOCAL, SHARE, and SSP libraries. The center will correct all supported programs, however it can not accept any legal responsibility for the results of these programs. The usual debugging and consulting services will be available for unsupported programs. BMD - Listings and a manual containing program descriptions of the Biomedical Computer Programs developed at UCLA are available in the UCC Library. This package includes statistical programs for data tabulation, mutivariate analysis, regression analysis, time series analysis, and variance analysis. Many of these programs have been corrected and made compatible with the UCC S/360 system and are avialable for use. At present, BMC programs are not supported by UCC. CAACM - The Collected Algorithms from CACM includes all algorithms from the Algorithm Section in Communications of the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) since its inception in 1960 through June 1966 and is updated bimonthly
