September 15th TBTN This was a silly meeting. We were all quite punchy. Agenda: Tess, T-shirts, permit, contacts, purpose Tess's comments stemming mainly from input and questions from the WRAC staff meeting. 1 When more PR is out it will be necessary to put instructions at the WRAC for people answering the phone. Such as: contact #, day of event ect. ALSO instructions as to how the committee would like the press dealt with ie. not at all. 2 Childcare. Yes it will be provided. at the WRAC (maybe) and with [[underlined]] paid women [[underlined]] workers. This decision is in keeping with trying to do an even that is the safest for women and girls. WE watnt to provide the safest environment for children [[underlined]] and [[underlined]] an environment that mothers will feel secure about. This raised the issue of boys at the rally, particularly in terms of young girls attending the rally. Also was raised about boy children needing childcare and did that insure the safety of the girlchildren.. What this developed was a realization of how complicated the issue of children can be. Where do we as a committee draw lines: in terms of sex, age, etc. That creating ideal situations for some creates hardships for others and also may not be within the capabilities of the planning body. We agreed about women childcare workers, that they be paid, and also that attempting to hold a rally for women only, included [[handwritten]] no [[handwritten]] boys. But we also, given our tired, punchy state wanted to think more about the whole issue and raise it again at the next meeting. 3 Karla requested that she be kept posted. (RVAP) 4 All the application forms for student org status were filed and are now apart of this file. BUdget is coming. Susan also had filed the city permit, (copy included) but had no info as yet on insurance costs. Carol ordered the T-shirts as follows: 12 shirts, size 30-32 XS 36 34-36 S 60 38-40 M 36 42-44 L ordered from Sherry King 12 46-48 XL 12 50-52 2X 6 54-56 3X 6 58-60 4X ordered from Sears total of 180 shirts costing us 519.00 inc screen [[underlined]] excluding [[underlined]] dye. Quite understandebly this got us talking about where we were going to get this money. As of the writing of these minutes a budget has been submitted to the senate for 900+ dollars, Pat will pursue NOW money (est. 150) Lisa will pursue the RVAP (200?) Tess will look into the WRAC and WRAC advisory board (100) and then there's all those businesses for maybe fifty books if were lucky. Carol will find out when SHerry needs the money, Colette will open an account at the Hills bank, Lisa will investigate dyes and such. Susan added that she [[underlined]] had [[underlined]] asked the city that the bond be waived.
