Take Back the Night sept 22 5:30 Some of us met early to try to do the purpose statement and we also made soup this is recommended for folks who can only meet during the dinner hour. It combats punchyness. Even though we all had full tums, this meeting was a hard one. we were all tired. I (the minute taker) got particularly anxious over work to be done in proportion to the amount of time available. I was not amoung the calmer heads that prevailed. It is hard to assess what we acomplished at this meeting. Most importantly we began looking at the actual structure of the rally and breaking it down into areas of work. But before that -- or rather in the process of doing that -- we ran into decisions and issues that needed a more philosophical approach. Issues such as childcare, how to handle women coming to the rally with boy children. How to deal with police, with the amount of emotional security we should provide and how. ETC. SO.....we decided to break the rally down into work sections do what work was appropriate and end the meeting. We would have the stuff done for the next meeting but that [[underlined]] that [[underlined]] meeting would be devoted to discussing the various issues that came up. Plus to listen to the work accomplished by each woman during the week. Here is the breakdown of work so far: [[handwritten]] *First aid: Colette hot drink, chairs, blankets [[handwritten]] * Tables: lit for RVAP, DVP, Incest Task Force, Alchohol -- Contacts and Set up --> *Publicity: Tess (immediate task: [[strike-through]] WRAC, NOW [[strike-through]] nwls.)
