The emotional support women should be scattered throughout the crowds. Training will be needed for the facilitators. We discussed the march: Many women have asked that the march be first. Saying that last year the rally was too long and many women got tired and left early. Saying that the march gives impetus to the rally. Saying that all the other groups did it this way. They seemed like good reasons yet we don't have a march permit, last years march was illiegal. Obtaining a permit might be possible but what about men following the march to the rally cite. Perhaps greater effort could be directed towards have the rally last about an hour no more. So that the march could start earlier. During the trainings we will ask women to make signs. Sunday we will, stuff envelopes, stamp envelopes, dye shirts and look up addresses. what a good time. ADDENDUM: Saturday October 2: We filed an appeal to the city council, asked that it be looked at right away becasue the council won't meeting until OCt. 12th. Neal BErlin (city manager) looked at it and called Tess. There was some discussion about the "banning of men" he made some gratuidous (or something) statement about how he understood we felt men would leave. THat they would not be [[underlined]] banned [[underlined]] from the park He seemed to understand. Then he simply said in "in my letter i will recommend that the liability be waived". Just like that. I said thank-you and hung up. YIPPEEEEEEE. Copy's of the appeal ect are in the file. [[handwritten]] P.S. Mr. Luck finally called (from Donovan & Welch Insurance) estimate liability bond would be $234.00 [[handwritten]]
