SCIENCE FICTION JR. Due to circumstances we are not able to give you RMFarley but we present an article we hope you will enjoy as much. Scienti-Movies The Ghost of Frankestein For such fine players it was somewhat of an inept film. Like the others in the series the 'monster' is revived by Egor his friend. He is taken to a village where the son of the son of Frankenstien is supposed to send strength trough the monsters weakened body. Monster runs amuck (as usual) kills a few innocent victims and ends up by having Egors brain transplanted into his massive body, going blind and again being burned alive. Cast: Lon Chaney Jr. as the monster-Bela Lugosi as Egor-Sir Cedric Hardwicke as Dr. Frankenstien-Ralph Bellamy as 'Dashing Young Hero', and Evelyn Ankers as 'The poor Heroine', and Lionel Atwill as the 'Fiendish Prof.' Wolf Man It is truly the "Great werewolf film", which has been awaited for so many years, but not expected. The producers certainly did a fine job of making a thorough fantasy picture. It is about a son who returns to help his father with some astronomical endeavors, meets Heroine and on a trip to a gypsy carnival gets bitten by a werewolf and turns into one himself. The rest I shall not divulge as you will want to enjoy it. Cast: Lon Chaney Jr. as Wolf Man-Claude Rains as his father-Evelyn Akers as "The Heroine" - Ralph Bellamy as Hero-Warren Williams as pshychiatrist-and Bela Lugosi as the original werewolf. (His shortest role) Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book A science fiction spectacle portrayed by the most competant actors in Hollywood. The Korda Bros. outdid themselves in making this movie. In it you see a convincing forest fire, two talking snakes, a hateful tiger, and a be-jewed treasure house of an ancient King. If you are a fan don't miss this one. (In technicolor.) Cast: Sabu as Mowgli. All others had bit roles. Flash Gordon on the Planet Mongo! A serial. And one of the best. It is the oldest, being nearly four years old but it has had return showings at most theatres. I won't tell you what its about as I only got to see around ten chapters but the ones I saw I would gladly pay full admission just to see one chapter. It is really terrific, if you don't get to see it, inquire about it to your local show manager. Cast: Larry "Buster" Crabbe as Flash Gordon-Mary Mondriei as Dale Arden. SCIENTI-PROGRAMS "The Hermits Cave" In Chicago: 10 o'clock P.M on WBBM or 750 Next to Dark Fantasy it is the best program delving into fantasy. No, it doesn't just dabble into fantasy but it is devoted entirely to it. Has a unique start and it is realistic throughout the program. Lasts a half-hour and every program has a complete, finished, story of weird horror, and science fiction type. Known Cast: Klock Ryder as the Hermit. Complete and technical info available by simply writting to the above station requesting a Hermit Pamphlet. Flash Gordon (Now off the air) In Chicago: 5:30 o'clock P.M. on WGN or 720 Killocycles Was an extremely interesting program while it lasted and was very stf'nal. It is a shame that it folded in Chi., but perhaps it is still in your state. IN THE NEXT ISSUE A neat little something by William Lawrence Hamling The Day I met Malcolm Smith by Charles MoNutt
