th June 29 a hot dry day we nead rain so bad the boys finished plowing the corn the fourth time this fornoon Grace Popenhagens little girl & her sister was here this afternoon I made a batch of fryed cakes we had a nice mess of grean beans for dinner the first one of our garden Fri June 30 we had some rain this morning was so gentle Lena & I cleaned the spare room & my bed room iam so glad I made a lot of button holes this fornoon
