& we came home Russell slept all night & late this morning his arm doesnt hurt him Tues July 27 A gloomy for [illegible] Wallace & Lena went to West union today Alden stayed with us & [illegible] had dinner & supper here wed July 28 A fearful hot day Lena & I gather some ripe gooseberries was fearful warm I got almost to warm Leana Robbins & girls called this afternoon th July 29 A very warm day I ironed moped baked bread made 2 1/2 qts ripe gooseberry jam
