Anybody wishing to sell Out of Space and Time, by Clark Ashton Smith, please contact me. Here's hoping you publish this. And congratulations on Vampire. Wish you would reserve me a copy in advance of next year's Fantasy Review. I arrived a little late this year, you know. Who can furnish me with a list of all prozines, past and present? ========================= Chicago's gift of fantasy fandom, SANDY KADET, has a few things on his mind. . . --------------------------------------- I am back. You will be forever sorry you printed my last article, indeed you will. I am also in the act of writing an educational article for the more astute readers of you entertaining journal. Title: "Why Not Be a Dope Addict?" I shall send this pearl free of charge if and when it is completed. Lucky boy. Perhaps a few remarks on the last issue are in order--- Cockroft's cover was a gem. 'Tis a pity every issue can't be adorned with such pics. Any contributions for another litho?? ((We'd be interested in hearing your comments on this issue's cover.)) Laney's series promises to be interesting, if he can keep up the high standard he has set for himself with the first one. Alpaugh amusing. One important song was forgotten tho . . . by all means, "I'll Walk Alone" should have been included. Vague suggestions of fourthg dimensional travel and bodyless voices are hinted at. Quote: "If you call, I'll hear you, no matter how far. Just close your eyes and I'll be there." Matter transference, that is. In answer to Shaver and everything he claims, there is but one thing to say -- if what Shaver says is true, why wasn't it taken to the proper authorities instead of a pulp magazine? A thing as big as this would not be ignored by the government. I'm open-minded, but when a man can try to prove something like this when the true way to prove it, if it were real, is so obvious, I'm forced to chuckle quietly and see if my goldfish has anything to say on the matter. (By the way, he doesn't.) Warner makes some good points in his article, especially his advice to fanzine editors about asking permission to print old mss. Well, Kennedy, all in all this issue was highly interesting. I hate to admit it but I agree with Warner that Vamp is one of the top ten fanzines . . I'll even commit myself to say it is one of the top five. (For that I expect to receive a free lifetime subscription.) And so, so long. ========================= YE ED SEZ: Thanks to Albert F. Lopez, Harley Sachs, Bill Deutsch, Fred Burgess, Dick Hoyt, Gerry de la Ree, Jawge Caldwell, Jay Chidsey, Monroe Kuttner, Rick Sneary, Al Weinstein, Walt Kessel, Walter A. Coslet, Milton A. Rothman, Beak Taylor, Ben Indick, Algis Budrys, and various other swell peoples. We greatly appreciate your letters. Wish we could print 'em all. -29-
