Everyone has heard it. it later served as the title of a motion picture. "Hans across the Table." .............................................................. BEACON LIGHT (concluded from page 15) Here's two more Love craft tales which were not included in the volume "The Outsider": they are "The Moon Bog: and "The Hound". . . .Let's see, now, a few personal items before we close shop. Moore after a dismal year--dismalto them because they don't like Gotham--in New York City are at last happily in the way back to the West Coast. . . .Jack Woodford makes some nasty cracks about stf. in his book: "Plotting or How to Have a Brain Child". Apparently he sees no difference between stf. and the sex-sadist stories. It might be added that Woodford is a past master of the latter. . . .Which about finishes us for now, so off goes the Beacon and we'll see you next issue, fans. .............................................................. ADVERTISEMENTS SUPER-HIGHWAYS AROUND THE WORLD. . . .If the rail and ship magnates couldn't prevent it. ROCKET TO THE MOON IN TWO YEARS. . . .If some of the billions spent on battleships were used to further research. Science-fiction's dreams seem doomed to be nothing but dreams. Science is forcefully held to paths which lead to the breeding of human suffering and world-wide misery. "Give us bread, for God's sake!" cry starving millions, while a million bushels of good wholesome wheat lies in the Duluth storehouses. "Guns, not butter!" is the savage answer. You are making us slaves to these machines!" cry the workers. "Give us our due!" "You are un-American; you are traitors; you should be put to death!" comes ruthlessly back. WHY SHOULD THIS BE? WHAT CAUSES THIS TRAGEDY? We have the answer! We would like you to know it, too. We ask you to join our INTELLECTUAL BROTHERHOOD OF PRO-SCIENTISTS by senidng 10 c to R.
