The Fantasy Amateur Page Four CRITIC'S REPORT ON THE SPRING MAILING By Robert W. Lowndes, Off. Critic and Paul Freehafer, Associate Critic Printed: Acky's Card: Lowndes: Neat (Mr. Freehafer omitted comment on this item) Photographs: Picture of Mr. Pohl: (Both Mr. Lowndes and Mr. Freehafer omitted comment) Mimeographed: The Phantagraph: Lowndes: We liked it. Freehafer: Amusing but unimportant. The Fantasy Amateur: Lowndes: Neatly done, although there's a question of constitutionality coming up on that amendment. Freehafer: A fairly good issue. The report on the treasury seems distinctly encouraging, and one may hope that FAPA's financial troubles are at an end. Fantaseer: Lowndes: I wish Groveman would learn to type two (2) spaces after a period and one (1) space after a comma. Material generally uninteresting. Freehafer: Poorly mimeographed and not too interesting, I'm sorry to say. Milty's Mag: Lowndes: Top notch. Glad to see Rothman smacking into controversial subjects again. Freehafer: High spot of the mailing. The sort of publication that makes you want to comment at length. Strange Fantasy: Lowndes: Ho hum--readable. Freehafer: Most of the material is rather good, but the reproduction is poor, at least in my copy. Fan-Tale: Lowndes: Rather amusing: let's see more of it. Freehafer: Short but not too sweet. The Time Scanner: Lowndes: Quite good. Enjoyed this one. About time Studley got going in FAPA. "Behind Closed Doors" hilarious. Freehafer: True confession: I like this gossipy sort of stuff. More, please. Le Vombiteur: Lowndes: Well, we thought that ending to the War on Satellite X was kinda cute. Paragraph on FAPA somewhat obsolete by now. Freehafer: Light and amusing. Sustaining Program: Lowndes: The pictures were quite welcome; the rest bored us. (Mr. Freehafer omitted comment on this fapaper)
