Tycho Page 21 __________________________________________ sues will be well-worth a dime. -- A few things to clear - [colored tex] Tycho up: Controversy! was outdated solely through my fault, and not the author's; and our rating-system was adopted because of its originality, and because the the Warner system is vastly overworked - ed -- Louis Russell Chauvenet, of 1920 Thompson Road-Charllotseville, Virginia; jots on the back of a postal-card: That cover was worth waiting for! Best in the issue was 'An Experiment of Interest'... Raymond Washington, Jr, of Live Oak, Florida: Cover: crude. Cross-hatch: very sloppy. Distinctive, of course, and it took Morrie a lot of time to smear ink all over the page, but personally, I dislike it as being crude and sloppy; 60. '' Contents-page: colored inks here very pleasing making this the best in the issue. '' Frontpiece: usual fanstuff - not bad; 70. Conquest!: story excellent. Reproduction: near, except in spots. Headings could be improved upon. ' MacGregor is the best thing in the issue by a wide margin. The atmosphere is excellent, and most especially the first part of the story. I didn't get the post-inspector's resemblance to a wolf until after I'd finished the story. But do you think you can fool Rym with this "Gordon Dickson" business? Gordon Dickson is John L. Gergen, nein? ((Nein!)) Anyway, it gets 75. '' Now, this Schultz, - is he a fan of a professor? I had the idea all along that he was an eccentric professor in some big college. So - he has drawn you a pic and has written an article ... Future of Tycho: this ain't bad. Give it 60. Controversy! was written either by Willmorth or one of the Michifans. (Yeah, I know - I'm guessin') Con! is interesting; 70. Adventure in Fantasy, by Art Osterlund - alias John Gergen isn't bad at all... -- Look, first you say you like the Contents-page - hail it as the best in the issue; later-on, say MacGregor is best by a wide margin. I don't get it. And darn it, Osterlund and Dickson aren't Gergen - both are active MFS members - ed -- Rust E. Barron, of 333 East Belgrade St - Philly, Penn; states on a card: I've just received Tycho and Fantasite, so give the cover 85, Contents-page 60, Controversy! 50 (there was no feud - Julie and I straightened the matter out), An Ex of Interest 80, Sherm a fifty, and Art 20.
