F.F.F. NEWS WEEKLY COVERS The ENTIRE FIELD VOLUME ONE NOVEMBER 30, 1940 NUMBER SIX Lineup Of 3rd issue of COMET WITH the second issue of COMET to appear on the stands any day, the third issue is being made ready for the printers. This third issue has a cover by MOREY, illustrating THE IMMORTAL, super-super story by Ross Rocklynn, who by the way, first knew that his yarn had been sold by reading it in FFF. Besides Rocklynn, the issue contains: DARK REALITY by Robert Moore Williams; HEALING RAYS OF SPACE by J.H. Haggard; PSYCHOLOGICAL REGENERATION by Arthur Cooke; STAR OF DREAMS by Jack Williamson; A LIE ON THE TEAM by COMETEER John Victor Peterson; HEAD HUNTERS OF MEMORIES by Neil R Jones; THE PLANET OF ILLUSION by Gordon; COSMIC TRAGEDY by Thos S Gardner. The issue is mostly illustrated by Forte, and also by Mirando, Dantz, Kyle, and COMETEER Guinta and Taurasi. This issue contains about 70,000 words. Tremaine has started selecting stories for the 4th issue, so watch future issues of FFF for more news of COMET. (JVT) LA by FJ 7 STFANS; or rather, 4 Stephans and 2 Stefettes; recently were the guests of Walt Daugherty for an afternoon at Earl Carroll's. Party included Ray Bradbury, Eleanor O'Brien, the Heinleins, Jack Williamson, Morojo & myself. DAUGHERTY (Director of the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society), at the insistence of a number of local friends has started a dancing class. Among those who have enrolled for the wkly instruction are Pogo, Jack Williiamson, Art Joquel & Morojo. "Learn to Waltz at Walt's" they say. He will teach every step including La Conga & recently has devised a new one called the "Ackerman Knees" & a routine dedicated to Futuria Fantasia. ANGELENO publications represented in the first issue of the Denventioneer will be The Damn Thing & Voice of the Imagi-nation. These probably will be semi-permanent features, while Bradbury may be persuaded to contribute a Futuria Fantasia section in the near future. RECORD Evening at 4e's Flat, That is to say, a group of us got together to make recordings. With Daugherty's new recording unit, & discs secured by Bradbury, from 7 o'clock til nearly midnight was spent in testing singing voices, reciting, ad libbing, reading, interviewing, acting, etc. A cousin of Orson Welles transcribed a dramatic reading of a powerful piece of original blank verse by Bruce Yerke, skeded (the written version) for the 2d Damn Thing (stenciling on which has begun, dummying being done).
