Which reminds me that for months Gern back ran an advertisement in Wonder Stories listing a dozen or more books for from $2.00 to $2.50. No doubt, the philanthropic editor of Wonder was unaware that most of these books were "remainders" and as such could be purchased in mint condition for between 50 and 75 cents in inumerable [innumerable] book shops in his own home town. But, perhaps Mr. Gernsback felt that by supplying these books at $2.00 and $2.50 he was doing an incalculable service for those poor out-of-towners who were unable to visit the metropolitan book stores and hence deserved a profit of 400 to 500 per cent for his trouble. Anyone who pays these prices for the stories is either crazy or doesn't care very much how he spends his money. [illustration]
