YWCA The YWCA Cabinet extends an invitation of membership to all interested coeds. Participation in the program of this woman's service group will assure you new friends and wider interests during your student years. The following is a brief summary of the "Y's" program: Freshman "Y" The wise freshman woman knows that here she will begin friendships that will continue throughout her college career and on into adult life. This is the first step to a long, happy life of personal faith, fellowship, and service. Major in Marriage The "Y" will help solve your marriage problems. They may be solved with the knowledge gained through the Major in Marriage lecture series sponsored by the "Y." These lectures cover both the physiological and psychological side of marriage. Social Committee If you like to plan parties, teas or programs, the Social Committee is the wise choice. It plans the Annual Silver Tea at President Hancher's home, plus informal parties and picnics for the "Y" girls and their friends. Public Relations The Public Relations Committee will furnish and opportunity to gain practical experience in publication. This program trains girls in the writing of news items for newspapers and radio broadcasts. Hostess Committee If you like meeting the public, if you enjoy doing office work, then this is the committee for you. You will derive a great deal of satisfaction in getting to know more girls on campus, as well as helping to sell the "Y" program to all University and town women. Nation and the World This committee helps to create new friendships among the students of all countries through social events, picnics, and discussions. It helps students realize effective citizenship and provides an opportunity for students to meet foreign students from all over the world. 24
