What to Wear... As you pack your suitcase to come to the University, be sure to leave a corner for all that ambition and enthusiasm. Concerning your campus wardrobe, don't exhaust your budget on new clothes. Purchase wisely and use your good judgment. But remember, the clothes you now have are new to us. We've never seen them! As you can imagine, this campus sports a variety of styles. Your campus clothes-casual dresses, skirts, and sweaters-will fill most of your clothes bag. It's remarkable how coordinated outfits and accessories can stretch a wardrobe! A cue about our weather. You'll be wearing dark cottons for only a few weeks before you jump into your colorful woolens. Since Homecoming is such a special event, we encourage suits and low heels for the game. For those formal occasions, your preference determines your choice of a long gown or cocktail dress. Parties are seldom this dressy, so limit yourself in deciding what to bring. You'll need what we call "grubbies," slacks, bermudas, cut-offs, sweatshirts, or sweaters to double as lounging or "booking" clothes. Don't forget your swim suit to catch the "rays" atop the dorm on the sun deck. A word to the wise-the most attractive, appealing, accessory is your smile. You are most important, not your clothes. Dress with practicality and according to your individual tastes. Anything you wear will seem pretty if there's a warm sparkly person in it!
