music and direction are the responsibilities of each group. The finalists sing on Sunday afternoon of Mother's Day Weekend. Qualified musicians award the place winners. If you haven't much of a voice, but do have an interest and enthusiasm for organizing an all-University event, you'll want to take part in the planning of U-Sing. And Now, You're on Your Own... The objectives and decisions made during your University years will influence much more of your life than the immediate present. The competence and dedication needed for personal satisfaction are gained by faithful concentration and genuine respect for others. Every effort you make adds to your growth-your academic work, your friendships, your new-found appreciation of art and music-and you will have discovered that being a student is what you are willing to put into it. College is a personal experience, comprised of the courses, the activities, the friends, the social life, and the knowledge you choose to pursue. Just as each face on the campus is unique, so is each college career. Let it be a time of personal fulfillment and worthwhile progress. From your four years at Iowa you will have learned much; you will have profited from your own experiences and those of others in the classroom and during your participation in extra-curricular activities. We hope Code for Coeds has answered some of your questions. There are many aspects of college which you will explore for yourself as you make the most of the opportunities awaiting you. As you graduate from the U of I, you will have gained in maturity and knowledge. If you begin your University life with a smile and boundless determination you will merit rewards. Good Luck! You're on your own! 20
