HEARTHLIGHT Whether you have several brothers and sisters or are an only child, you will find few experiences of greater value than that of group living. Currier Hall, housing over 900 girls; The Commons, with 160 girls; the dormitory annexes; sorority houses; and private housing are all waiting for you to make your SUI debut. Meals, parties, activities, and studying will be a part of your life regardless of what type of housing you have chosen. At Currier Hall, the rooms are comfortably furnished with a desk, study chair, single bed, linens, a blanket, attractive spread and draperies. [hand drawing of girl] Bring along your favorite room accessories, but don't forget that you and your roommates will want to confer on purchasing the extra items that make a room more pleasant. Roommates share the telephone and double dresser in addition to the combination-lock mailbox. Ironing rooms are located in each hall for your convenience. If you so desire, you may bring along such appliances as pop corn poppers, electric coffee pots, and steam irons to use in these ironing rooms. Maid service is provided twice a week, and fresh linens are left each Wednesday morning. Breakfast is served buffet style, while lunch and dinner are served family style in the three cheerful dining rooms. Additional Currier facilities include a soda fountain to cure those in-between meal pangs of hunger. Various sundry items and magazines can also be purchased in the dormitory. Automatic washers, dryers, clothes lines, enamel tubs, ironing facilities, and a sewing room are all found in the laundry area. One of Currier's recreation rooms, equipped with piano, television, soft drink machines, divans, and lamps, is a few steps north of the laundry area. Warmly decorated lounges on the main floor will give you a pleasant place in which to spend your leisure hours and entertain your friends. Currier's own radio station, WVOC, and newspaper, Dormstory, hope for your new ideas and efforts during out-of-class hours. Elevators are operated to make trips to the fourth floor a little easier. 7
