Be Our Guest Accommodations for travelers must be considered from every vantage point, and your choice of lodging at SUI is no exception. Among the various rooms open to undergraduate women are those at the new Burge Hall, whose capacity next year will total 900; Currier Hall, accounting for over 900 residents, approved private homes, and sorority houses (open only to upperclassmen). If your destination be Currier or its new neighbor, Burge Hall, you'll live in the following style. All rooms are equipped with individual beds and study desks, desk lamps, a blanket with cover spread, and gay draperies. You and your roommates will no doubt want to put some additional touches on your living quarters after getting settled, so don't try to arrange everything in detail before you arrive in Iowa City. Co-operation and sharing become especially important in dorm living, and so you'll want to plan things together with your"roomies" before you settle down for the year. Also, keep in mind simple courtesies in respect to the telephones provided in each dorm room, the combination-lock mail box, the washing, ironing, and sewing facilities in the laundry rooms. Group living abounds in fun when shared by every person. Appliances such as electric coffee makers, steam irons, or popcorn poppers can be used in the ironing rooms of each floor if you wish. Provided for your convenience and pleasure are a number of cheerful lounging areas, some of which are equipped with pianos, television, soft drink venders, and comfy chairs and couches. These are perfect for relaxing, studying, entertaining your friends, or rehearsing those numerous dorm skits. You'll also enjoy the self-operating elevators if your quarters are on the upper levels. Some extra provisions include clean linens once a week and maid service provided twice each week. Cafeteria breakfasts and family style lunches and dinners are planned to keep you healthy and happy during your stay. We might tempt you "in-between -meal" snackers by mentioning the soda fountains which will be open throughout the day in both of the dorms if yiu care to indulge. You may also purchase magazines and other small items for your personal needs. [hand drawing of person in bed] 5
