Just Around That Corner [Drawing of woman] A trip is full of anticipation and excitement. With your foot on the accelerator and a road map in hand, your adventure begins. It's Sunday, September 21, and although you had planned to get started at 6:00 a.m., the car is finally packed and last-minute items poked in place. A little loss of time won't make that much difference, since you've a whole year to go. While the first University-required meeting is scheduled for Sunday, September 21, the big mass meeting planned for you begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Field House on September 22. Here you will be given a warm welcome by members of the staff and upperclass students of the University. A skit and other types of entertainment will fill the evening. This will give you a chance to get an eyeful of new faces and meet your fellow students .Most everybody will be in the same boat, and you'll soon lose that feeling of strangeness. Immediately following this rendezvous, you'll be separated into smaller groups to visit some of our faculty and staff members in their homes. This is a rewarding experience for both you and your host and hostess. Exchange greetings and tell each other about yourselves. Fun and refreshments will high light the session at these faculty homes. When Tuesday, September 23, rolls around, it's off to another big day of orientation sponsored by AWS, the same organization that is sending you this travelogue. The next event on your calendar is a very entertaining evening, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Field House. A Play Night will be conducted under the direction of the men's and women's orientation councils. Games of all sorts will be offered for you to choose from, and the swimming exhibition by members of the Dolphin Club will prove to be as outstanding as in the past. You won't want to miss this evening of fun. 10
