Most students find they have a heavy schedule of classes during the morning hours, and breakfast is definitely not the meal to skimp on. If you feel the need for in between meal nibbles, there is a snack bar in each dorm. The dormitories give you a real chance to participate in dorm government. You will have all kinds of opportunities to be on committees, both in your "unit" and in all dormitory events. Take advantage of these opportunities, for everything that happens in college is "once in a lifetime." Some girls live with families in Iowa City. These girls are under the same University regulations as other students. The girls in this off campus housing, if not affiliated with a sorority, automatically become members of Independent Town Women. This group plans social events and projects with the Town Men's Organization. Group living is lots of fun. However, in group living as in just about everything, it is necessary to keep consideration for, and cooperation with others in mind. You will find that these two words ass up to harmony, which will result in a happy and successful year, 5
