On Tuesday evening these groups are reversed with orientation groups 51-100 going to the president's home and 1-50 being entertained by the church groups.. Wednesday afternoon, September 23, there will be an Activities Open House in the Main Lounge in the Iowa Memorial Union. Every campus organization will have a booth where you can become acquainted with its function and learn the qualifications for membership. If you are interested in activities, this is time time to indicate your interest. Downstairs in the River Room an informal dance will be held during the open house. Thursday night at the Field House is the annual Orientation Play Night, which fully lives up to this name. A dance will be held in the north gym and the more energetic will enjoy basketball, volleyball, swimming, etc. Wear jeans or Bermudas and bring your own swim suit. Don't miss this! Classes start Thursday , September 24 at 7:00 a.m. At 9:25 a.m. the annual Induction Ceremony officially opens the school year. It is one of the SUI's traditional ceremonies and is a very impressive one. The final planned activity for Orientation Week is an open house at the Union for all students, new and old. Union board will provide an informal evening of dancing and tours from 8:00 p.m. to midnight. If you find yourself a bit bewildered, turn your weary feet toward the Information Booth, which will be located on the north side of Old Capitol. It's there specifically to help you. Take advantage of it. The ball is in the air now. Orientation Week taught you the training rules and plays to help you receive the kick and run with the ball. And you'll think you are off and running for the time flies. As the weeks pass, you'll have more time to contemplate the plays you will make. Getting oriented now will help you throughout your four years of playing. [hand drawing of boy & girl dancing]
