Watch The Daily Iowan for announcement of this open house . Student Council The student organization which is representative of all the students of SUI is the Student Council. Membership in this organization is on the basis of housing units, with representatives from the women's and men's dorms, the Panhellenic Association and married students, as well as those students who live in off-campus housing. This organization tries to keep all the multiudinous aspects of SUI running smoothly. One of the newest and most successful projects of Student Council is the Student Traffic Court. It is to the Traffic Court that appeals are made regarding such things as University parking tickets. As in most college towns there is a parking problem, and if you drive a car on campus, you may be interested in this work done in your behalf. Union Board The Iowa Memorial Union is one of the hubs of our University, for it is here that lectures, concerts, dances, dinners. and presentations are held. The students who work on the organization and government of the Union are the Union Board. These students are elected by member of their respective colleges in the all campus election held each spring. The members of this Board are then each assigned responsibility in a certain area over which Union Board governs. In order to accomplish all that this vast organization must do, each area has a subcommittee that carries out the plans of the Union Board itself. In order to be eligible for nomina- 19
