[hand drawing of girl] YWCA Perhaps you've already become familiar with the YWCA in your home community, but if you haven't you have the opportunity to do so now. The "Y" is a service organization for women. It sponsors many diverse activities. Coordinating these are the members of the YWCA Cabinet, this year headed by Sybil Norton, president. The various sections of the "Y" are described below. Major in Marriage Every girl is interested (in some way or other) in the institution known as marriage. Knowing this, the YWCA offers a series of educational lectures on both the physical and the psychological aspects of marriage. Watch for posters announcing these lectures. Perhaps, too, you'd like to work on the committee responsible for these lectures. Complete information is available at the "Y" booth at the activities open house held early this fall. Freshman "Y" As an incoming freshman girl you will be invited to join and participate in all the "Y" activities. However, one sure way to get an overall view of the opportunities offered to you by this organization is by becoming a member of Freshman "Y". Here you'll elect your own officers and plan special projects, although you will co-operate with senior "Y" in several ways. Included among the activities usually done by this group are the hearing of several lectures and some service projects. If you are interested in "Y" work, this is a good place for you to begin. 29
