[hand drawing] Guides, Maps and Exploration Adaptation to your new life is most essential for future success. With this in mind, put a star by Orientation on your fall schedule of events and prepare for a week of fun and excitement. It is here that you will be able to assimilate the many facts you have gathered about your chosen school and gain a more complete picture of college life. All new undergraduate students are scheduled to meet together for the first time in the Field House, Sunday September 18, at 7:00 p.m. Here you will encounter student and administrative leaders of the University and receive instructions concerning orientation activities. Immediately following this program you will be whisked off for a relaxing visit in the home of some faculty member - possibly a future instructor. Here is the opportunity to become acquainted with teachers, as well as the twenty or more other students of your particular group. Informal discussion and entertainment, accompanied by refreshments, highlight the evening. The next two nights find you either attending the President's Open House or visiting the local church group of your choice. Whether you are scheduled to visit in the Hancher's home on a Monday or Tuesday evening, be sure to don your Sunday best, as both President and Mrs. Hancher, plus numerous other University officials, will be on hand to greet you. On the alternate night slip into more casual campus wear for an informal evening with members of the local church group of your choice who will be holding an open house. Up 11
