perclassmen will be on hand to say "Hello" and explain their church programs. Wednesday afternoon, September 21, has been reserved for the Activities Open House in the Main Lounge of the Iowa Memorial Union. Here will be found representatives from every campus organization, eager to acquaint you with their functions and tell you about membership should you so desire. If extracurricular participation holds your interest this is the place to begin. Moreover, after you have adequately surveyed the activity scene just wander downstairs to the River Room where an informal dance will be in full swing. Lasting until 4:30 p.m., there's just enough time for you to rush back to the dorm, rest your weary feet, and grab a bit to eat before the annual Orientation Play Night commences at 7:00 p.m. in the Field House. Play Night is certainly a must as its schedule includes activities as diverse as the interests of those who attend. The more energetic might want to participate in basketball, volleyball, swimming, etc., while those wishing to lean back and relax may view fencing, wrestling and/or swimming demonstrations. In addition, a dance will be held in the North Gym. Wear jeans or bermudas with comfort in mind, and don'tt forget to bring your own equipment - this includes a suit and bathing cap if you plan on swimming. Classes start Thursday, September 22, at 7:30 a.m. Officially opening the school year is the annual induction ceremony held at 9:25 a.m. on the West Approach of Old Capitol. Impressive and important, you won't want to miss it! Winding up the scheduled Orientation Week activities will be an evening of dancing and tours in the Iowa Memorial Union under the sponsorship of Union Board. From eight until twelve you may enjoy this informal atmosphere while furthering your acquaintances with students both old and new. Should this slate of events bring a sea of confusion just stop off at the Information Booth north of Old Capitol, where trained workers await your questions. Set up for your convenience from September 18-20, be sure to take advantage of this Orientation Week "extra." If you have already have questions why not get a head start and dash off a note to your own orientation leader, from whom you should be hearing very soon if you haven't to date. Selected on the basis of interest and ability, this person is most eager to be of service in any way possible. Remember, this week is planned especially for you. Here may be acquired the foundation upon which all future college experience may be laid with full confidence. Take up the reins offered and, in full stride, step into the swing of things at SUI. 12
