THE ORGANIZATION YOU [hand drawing A.W.S UNION BOARD C.P.C STUDENT COUNCIL MARCHING BAND] Your chance to participate in extracurricular activities is just around the corner when you enter SUI. You'll be introduced to most campus organizations at the Orientation Activities Open House, September 20, in the Iowa Memorial Union. You can develop your talents (and display them!) In SUI clubs while working with other students who share your interests. SUI offers an almost unlimited range of extracurricular activities, but you'll be wise to pick carefully among the many to find the few you'll really enjoy. In most groups, you'll be starting at the bottom as the newest member of the SUI community; however, subcommittee positions will lead to more responsible posts for you in future years. Cooperate with the groups you've chosen , do your best at the tasks you're assigned, and your good qualities will be recognized with leadership opportunities. You'll have more fun and be more fun if you develop your interest in outside activities at SUI. In the following pages, you can get a glimpse of some of the groups you may be joining during the next four years. 17
