Every Freshman Council member works on one AWS committee and thus one main project. The group as a whole tried to promote AWS activities through such projects as visiting the Veterans' Hospital, handling publicity for the Spinster's Spree of baby-sitting for potential voters. Keeping General Council informed of these activities is the Freshman Council president, who automatically becomes a member of this senior body. You can represent the other freshmen in your housing unit and gain experience in SUI activities by participating in AWS Freshman Council. CENTRAL JUDICIARY As a coed, you'll be bound by certain rules and regulations for your hours and conduct. These principles are outlined in the Code of Student Life, which you will find in your dormitory room upon arrival. The Central Judiciary Board, whose chairman is a member of the AWS General Council, helps formulate and administer these policies. Its membership includes representatives from the women's dormitories, the Panhellenic Association and the town area. PROFILE PREVIEWS An event planned especially for you, a new undergraduate coed at SUI, is Profile Previews, the annual fashion show sponsored by AWS. Every freshman and transfer woman is invited to try our for the show,, so be sure to watch for announcements concerning the preliminaries. In the show itself, approximately ninety coeds model the latest in sportswear, campus wear, suits, coats, dressy dresses, and cocktail wear, all from their own wardrobes. Don't hesitate about trying out simply because you've never modeled before; the Profile Previews Styles Committee will give modeling tips to all the women chosen to model in the show. A panel of fashion experts judges the models in the show and selects on coed as Miss Perfect Profile and two other student models as her attendants. Applications for the tryouts will be available early in the fall, so start looking through your closet for just the right outfit to wear. FOREIGN STUDENTS If you're interested in studying other lands, their traditions and cultures, you'll want to investigate the AWS Foreign Student Committee more carefully.
