9 3RD READER (going over to him) "You've found, as all here know. Death is but a horizon and what is a horizon save the limits of human vision. To some here it would be considered improper to welcome you here, this kiva of the dead. We have anticipated your coming since November 22, 1963...the death of Mr. Kennedy was the omen of your death. Strange are the strings of life. We gather here, prematurely in January, when death was very close to you. If you were to know the truth, with the name Malcolm, death always swirled. As it did for Macbeth, and the others Scots of that name." MR. X. "You've got the wrong guy in mind. I was never Scotish." 3RD READER "It mattered not...parents do not know the weight of a name." MR. X. "Who are all these faceless and probably guttless persons." (looking at the audience) HEAD COUNSELOR "They are the Council of the Ages; but not the Supreme Council. They will be revealed later." MR. X. "Why is there a council...And did I understand you to say you expected me...what's going on, baby? Who's that glowing with that devilish light?" 1ST SPECTATOR "This is going to be lively... (to 2nd Spectator) You said the light was...ethereal...he calls it devilish. He sees things differently from you."
