Graduate Fellowship and Grants 306 Jessup Hall Special assistance to graduate students interested in fellowships or research support is available from the Graduate College Funds Resource Specialist. MISCELLANEOUS SERVICES Bulletin Board Official University notices and announcements are published on the editorial page of tThe Daily Iowan under the heading "University Bulletin Board." Computer Center East Hall Available to all students, faculty and staff members, the Computer Center provides educational and consultative services, compatible with its resources, to assist users in preparing projects for computer analysis. For detailed information on the Center, consult the University Computer Center User's Guide in the Computer Center Library, or ask for information in the Main Office, W13 East Hall (353-3170). Copy Center 120 iowa Avenue Operated by the University's Department of Publications, the Copy Center provides walkin service for the reproduction of reports, theses, memos. and other documents, in quantities up to 300 copies, from originals prepared on 8 1/2 " by 11" paper. These services are available to recognized student organizations by requisition, and to individual students on a cash-and-carry basis. Rates are 10 cents for a single copy, a minimum of 25 cents for multiple copies, one cent per copy from 26 to 100 copies, and one-half cent per copy over 100 copies. These services are also available at the Graphic Service Building (102 2nd Avenue, Coralville) Relocation of the Iowa Avenue facility and establishment of other copy centers on the campus are planned for the 1970-71 academic year, and will be announced in campus media. (See "Publications and Printing Service") Food Services (Public) University facilities which provide public dining service include Quadrangle Cafeteria, in the Quadrangle residence hall complex; the General Hospital Coffee Shop; and in the Memorial Union, the come-as-you-are River Room cafeteria and Wheel Room snack shop, and the more formal State Room. Parking Lot Operations 101 Old Dental Building University regulations governing student use of motor vehicles are administered by the Office of Parking Lot Operations. All students who own and/or operate of motor vehicles - including motorbikes, motor scooters and motorcycles - in the Iowa City area must register them with this office Printed copies of student motor vehicle regulations may be obtained at this office. Photographic Service 7 E Market Street A full range of photographic services is available to individual students and student organizations by requisition and on a cash-and-carry basis. Photo Service takes organization and individual pictures for Hawkeye, the U of I student yearbook. Placement Services U of I Placement Services provide extensive career and job placement information. You are encouraged to visit the placement office in your area of interest early in your University career. Seniors and graduate students seeking positions are asked to register for placement services in the fall of their graduation year. Appointments will be made for them to interview prospective employers' representatives visiting the campus. Placement offices also help students make off-campus contacts with prospective employers, Students who register for placement service may maintain permanent credential files for future use in seeking advancement or relocation. Career Counseling and Placement Office 2nd Floor North, Iowa Memorial Union This office services students from the Colleges of Business Administration, Law, Liberal Arts, and Nursing, and the Schools of Library Service and Journalism, who are interested in employment in fields other than education. Educational Placement Office C103 East Hall This office helps all interested students and alumni secure positions in teaching, school administration, counseling, and other related position in elementary and secondary schools and in colleges and universities. Engineering Placement Office 3121 Engineering Building Publications and Printing Service Graphic Services Building, 102 2nd Avenue, Coralville The Department of Publications is the purchasing and servicing agency for all University printing and publishing. The Department must approve all printing purchased with University-administered funds. The Department's Printing Service is equipped for letterpress and offset printing, whiteprinting, and binding. In addition, xerox copying, highspeed offset duplicating, and some collating services are offered. These services are available to recognized student organizations by requisition, and to individual students on a cash-and-carry basis. (See "Copy Center") Public Information and News Service 700 Jefferson Building These units serve to improve understanding of the University's purposes and activities. News Services supplies University news, feature articles, and photographs to mass media. Its Campus News Bureau helps student groups publicize campus events. The Office of Public Information offers editorial assistance for University publications, arranges campus tours, furnishes University exhibit and display materials, and provides other related services. Religious Opportunities 307 Gilmore Hall The University works closely with religious groups and foundations through the Coordinator of Religious Activities in the School of Religion, and the Student Development Center. 7
