2. Those residing in quarters operated by the University. 3. Those residing in men's and women's fraternity houses. 4. Those who reside in approved rooming houses, with or without cooking privileges. Rooming houses and householders are approved by the Office of Student Affairs if satisfactory adult supervision is provided and the householder agrees to enforce regulations of the University concerning the accommodations to be furnished and the conduct of the residents. B. Any approved facility is restricted to residence solely by men students or solely by undergraduate women students. C. Assignment of students applying for quarters operated by the University is made without regard to race, color, nationality, or religion, on the basis of established assignment procedures. D. 1. After September 1, 1961, approval by the University of any new off-campus housing facilities for single undergraduate students under age 21 shall be granted only if the householder agrees in writing to rent to all students on the basis of individual merit and without restrictions on the basis of race, creed, color, or national origin. Any changes in ownership or management of facilities approved shall be considered new housing. 2. It is assumed by the University that householders whose off-campus facilities have been approved for single undergraduate students prior to September 1, 1961, shall rent to all students on the basis of their individual merits as persons without exclusion on the basis of race, creed, color, or national origin. 3. In any case of a proven violation of this standard, action of an educative and remedial nature shall be initiated by the Office of Student Affairs. Should such action fail, the University may remove the facility from the housing listing and/or withdraw approval of the facility for undergraduate housing. 4. In performing its service of listing avaialble off-campus facilities for married students (which do not reqire University approval), the Office of STudent Affairs shall list after September 1, 1961, only those facilities in which the owner or manager agrees in writing to accept student tenants on the basis of their merits as persons and without exclusion on the basis of race, creed, color, or national origin. 5. The foregoing policy shall be interpreted and administered by the Office of Student Affairs in the spirit that no qualified person shall ever be excluded from the University because of said policy.
