A hostess must assume any penalties for a guest's infraction of rules, unless the guest is a University student. The University student must assume her own penalties. VI. Quiet Hours. Quiet hours shall be observed in every dormitory, chapter house, and town house as follows: 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.—Monday through Friday 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.—Sunday 7:30 p.m. to 12:00 noon the next day, Sunday through Thursday 11:00 p.m. to 12:00 noon the next day, Friday and Saturday VII. Hours for Men Callers 4:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.—Monday through Thursday 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.—Friday 12:00 noon to 1:00 a.m.—Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.—Sunday and University Holidays VIII. Women Guests in Men's Residences. Women may be entertained in the public areas of men's residences, including men's professional fraternities, ONLY when the housemother or other official chaperons are present. Women guests are not permitted in men's trailers or apartments. Hours for women guests in men's residences are: 4:30 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.—Monday through Thursday 4:30 p.m. to 12:45 a.m.—Friday 12:00 noon to 12:45 a.m.—Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 p.m.—Sunday IX. Violations and Penalties A. Negligence. Negligence is the failure of the girl to have a thorough knowledge and understanding of regulations for university women as contained in the Code of Student Life. B. Serious Infractions. Infractions which are deemed serious will be referred to Central Judiciary Board from every housing unit. C. Falsification. Falsification of information, verbal or written, is a serious offense and will be referred to Central Judiciary Board. D. Lateness. NO LATENESS WILL BE PERMITTED. Any lateness will result in judiciary action for the student, and may result in an earlier closing hour for the student. E. Failure to Sign Out. This is a serious offense, since unapproved overnight absences are cause for suspension from the University. If a student has failed to sign out, she should notify her housing unit immediately of her whereabouts. This is a courtesy and does not mean the offense will be excused. [11]
