3. That no provisions in the membership policies shall prohibit selection of local chapter members by reason of race, color, or national origin. 4. That it agrees to use the services of the Student Organizations Fund as required of all student organizations. 5. That it agrees to report to the Office of Student Affairs within a reasonable time each change in its constitution, bylaws, officers, faculty adviser, or program. 6. That it has a faculty adviser who approves of its objectives. 7. That it agrees to submit to the Office of Student Affairs before the close of each academic year an annual report of its activiteis. D. Certificte of Recognition. Each application for recognition will be considered by the Committee on Student Organizations of the Student Council, and, if it is the opinion of the Committee, that the conditions set forth above are clearly met, the application will be forwarded with a recommendation to the Office of Student Affairs. The Committee's recommendation will be reviewed by the staff, and if the organization is approved, a certificate of recognition shall be issued. Copies of this certificate are sent to the Auditor of Student Organization Accounts, Office of the Registrar, and the Iowa Memorial Union Desk. If an application for recognition is denied by the staff of the Office of Student Affairs, the officers of the proposed organization so affected may request the Committee on Student Life to review the decision. VI. Meaning of Registration or Recognition. Registration or recognition of a student organiztion does not constitute an endorsement of its program or purposes. Registration or recognition is simply a charter to exist and, except for college or departmental organizations, if at any time a showing of misuse or nonuse is made, further registration or recognition may be denied by the Committee on Student Life. VII. University Directory List of Student Organizations. Only officially recognized and registered student organizations will be listed in the organizations section of the University Directory. Any student group desiring such a listing should make certain that it is properly registered in the Office of Student Affairs. VIII. Student Organization Accounts. All student organizations are required to handle their funds and financial transactions through the Unviersity Business Office. See Chapter VII for details. IX. Activities for Purposes of Raising Funds. Student organizations must have the approval of the Office of Student Affairs before entering into money-making enterprises. [24]
