Off-campus housing for graduate students, married students, and students over age twenty-one is not normally subject to University approval procedures. However, such facilities as are inspected by the University and, available on a non-discriminatory basis, are listed on the graduate bulletin board located on the ground floor of University Hall. B. To be eligible for housing not subject to University approval procedures, a student must attain the age of twenty-one prior to or during the session in which such housing is to be occupied. C. Special permission for undergraduate students under twenty-one years of age to occupy housing not subject to University approval procedures may be granted by the Office of Student Affairs upon application in person for: 1. Students who have completed four years of college and who have earned 126 semester hours of credit. 2. Students who have certified medical necessity. 3. Students who must live in unapproved housing as a condition of their employment. III. Off-Campus Housing Standards. All off-campus housing shall conform to University standards, city ordinances, and state housing laws. Any student may be required to move from premises which the University considers undesirable because of sanitary, moral, safety, or other reasons. IV. University Policy on Fair Housing Practices. It is and shall be the firm policy of the University that householders shall rent to all students on the basis of their individual merits as persons without exclusion or discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, or national origin. A. After September 1, 1961, approval by the University of any new off-campus housing facilities for single undergraduate students under age twenty-one shall be granted only if the householder agrees in writing to rent to all students on the basis of individual merit and without restrictions on the basis of race, creed, color, or national origin. Any changes in ownership or management of facilities approved shall be considered new housing. B. It is assumed by the University that householders whose off-campus facilities have been approved for single undergraduate students prior to September 1, 1961, shall rent to all students on the basis of their individual merits as persons without exclusion on the basis of race, creed, color, or national origin. C. In performing its service of listing available off-campus housing facilities for married students and single students over twenty-one years of age (which do not require University approval), the Office of Student Affairs shall list only those facilities in which the owner or manager agrees in writ- [6]
