Organized group social functions held in the Iowa Memorial Union should include facuty guests. Committees in charge of such social functions are responsible to the Director of the Union and his staff for conduct. III. Closed Parties. Dancing parties other than All-University parties shall be known as closed parties, and tickets shall be issued or sold only to members of the organization sponsoring the party. IV. All-University Parties. The All-University party schedule shall be prepared annually by the Central Party Committee and posted on the calendar of events in the Office of Space Assignment and Utilization. Student parties may not be scheduled in conflict with All-University parties except at Homecoming. See Chapter XI for regulations governing these parties. V. Intoxicating Beverages. No beer, wine, or other intoxicating beverage may be served at any student funciton. VI. Serenades. The House Director must be notified IN ADVANCE OF all serenades. Girls remain in their housing units for an after-hours serenade. CHAPTER V—REGULATIONS FOR UNDERGRADUATE WOMEN Basic in the success of community living is the understanding and observance of its codes of conduct. This Code serves as such a guide with important information for all students and a few minimum regulations for undergraduate women. Undergraduate women will need to become familiar with the more specific regulations of the Associated Women Students' BLUE BOOK, too. The University recognizes the maturity of the student body; you should know these few rules—and act responsibly. I. Closing Hours for Women's Residences. Closing hours shall be defined as the LATEST hour for a student's return to her housing unit. it is expected that each student will plan her activities in order to return to her housing unit well BEFORE the closing hour. The regular closing hours begin Sunday, September 4, 1966, and continue through August 31, 1967. This includes summer session, examination, registration, and vacation periods. All undergraduate women other than those included in the Privileged Hours Program have 12:00 midnight closing hours Sunday through Thursday, and 1:00 a.m. closing hours Friday and Saturday nights throughout the academic year with the following exceptions: 1. 2:00 a.m. closing hours on Friday and Saturday, October 21 and 22, 1966, Homecoming Weekend. 2. 1:00 a.m. closing hours the night before classes are suspended prior to University vacation periods (Thanksgiving, Novem- [11]
