Code requires and to give maximum safety for students, architectural plans for any remodeling, additions, or new structures must be submitted to and approved by the University Inspection Division. It will be necessary to have final approval plans before the Committee on Student life will review and approve the project. C. BASIS OF HOUSE OPERATIONS. The chapter houses for fraternities may operate only under the authorization of the Committee on Student Life. Such authorization may be procured by presenting a formal request to the Office of Student Affairs for transmittal to the Committee on Student Life. Such a request is to be accompanied by: 1. A written approval of the request by at least three responsible alumni, the governing body of the house owning corporation or other owner of the property, ad the national organization if the local group is affiliated. 2. A written statement signed by the duly authorized chapter representatives and at least three responsible alumni members that the chapter will comply with all existing or subsequent University regulations. 3. A written statement signed by the duly authorized chapter representatives and at least three responsible alumni members that the chapter will contract to use the complete program of the Fraternity Affairs Office for all financial transactions. 4. A statement of the financial condition of the chapter on forms provided by the Fraternity Affairs Office. 5. A proposed operating budget for the regular school year and the following summer months on forms provided by the Fraternity Affairs Office. D. WHO MAY LIVE IN A FRATERNITY HOUSE. Except as specifically authorized to the contrary by the Office of Student Affairs, no fraternity operating a chapter house shall permit any persons other than qualified members and pledges registered in the University and the authorized house chaperon and employees to reside in the chapter house. E. HOUSEMOTHER. Each fraternity must have in residence at all times a housemother or other authorized chaperon, such housemother or chaperon to have the approval of the Office of Student Affairs prior to employment by the fraternity. No such housemother or chaperon may be dismissed without the specific approval of the Office of Student Affairs. F. FINANCIAL OPERATIONS. All chapter financial operations shall be handled through the Fraternity Affairs Office and shall be based upon the following principles: 1. The annual budget must be approved by the chapter financial adviser and the Fraternity Affairs Office before the chapter may operate. [25]
