3. Show approval by the Office of Student Affairs of satisfactory group living quarters, if group living quarters are desired. 4. Show evidence that its creation will not impair or jeopardise any group with which it will be in direct competition. Each petition shall be reviewed by the appropriate interfraternity self-governing body for an opinion. 5. Agree to observe all the regulations in the Code off Student Life which are applicable to it. 6. Agree to become associated nonvoting members of the appropriate interfraternity self governing body. 7. Have no unsettled financial obligations. 8. Agree to use the confidential business service of the Fraternity Affairs Office and the collection service of the University Business Office. 9. Submit a proposed operating budget or the probationary period on forms provided by the Fraternity Affairs Office. E. The probationary period shall begin only at the start of a regular academic semester and shall continue for two academic semesters exclusive of all summer terms. A third academic semester in the probationary period may be granted upon application to the Office of Student Affairs. F. If a group does not qualify for full fraternity status by the end of the maximum allowable probationary period, it shall be disbanded . Any group so disbanded will not be permitted to petition for probationary status again until at least twelve calendar months have elapsed. G. At the end of the probationary period of at least two academic semesters, exclusive of all summer terms. a probationary group may petition for full standing. Such a status shall be granted by the Committee on Student Life, provided the requirements for the probationary period have been met and that: 1. If housing is required, adequate housing plans approved by the national fraternity, if one is involved, and a responsible alumni committee, and underwritten by an alumni house owning corporation are presented to and approved by the Committee on Student Life. The University will require all social fraternities to have housing. 2. The group has a membership of at least thirty undergraduate members, twenty of whom must be actives ( if the fraternity is to be organized among students above the undergraduate level, this shall read graduate or professional students), all of whom shall have a cumulative grade point average of not less than 2.0, at least half of whom shall have a grade point average of not less than 2.5 and at least 15 percent of whom shall have a cumu- [30]
