2. Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., Week of September 23, 1907. (Chas. Levenburg, Mgr.) The bill this week is thoroughly satisfactory, in fact is as good as anyone could possibly ask for. It made a decided hit with the audience and there is no reason why it should not draw business. 3 Motor Girls. Alleged singing and dancing changes. There is no denying that this is an awfully bad set. Can't recommend it from any standpoint. 12 min. in 1, 3 shows. LaRose & Frederick. Wire act similar to that of the [illegible]. Wire on one side suspended by an upright, the opposite side is held by one of the men in his hands, on his neck, in his teeth, etc. The act lacks the finish of the higher grade European acts, [illegible] very good work. Thoroughly all right to open the 2-a-day houses and very excellent for three shows. 11 min, full stage, 3 shows. Rowland & Dugan. Two young men, talking act, one straight and the other the [illegible]. While to my mind nothing alarmingly great, pleased the audience very well indeed, scoring as good as could be expected in that position, both afternoon and evening. 1-1/2 min. in 1, 3 shows. Kurtis & [Duane?]. The "Trained Toy Terriers". A very pretty little dog act nicely presented and well executed. Very valuable act considering the price. 15 min. full stage, 3 show The [illegible]. Man and woman, soubrette and Dutchman. The woman is fair, the man poor. An act only fitted, to my mind, to the 3-a-day section and have exchanged places with them and Rowland & Dugan. 10 min. in 1, [illegible] [Petching?] Bros. [illegible] comedy musical act. Neither the music nor the comedy in this act is particularly alarming, but the man deserves great credit for the new idea which they elaborate from season to season. Because of this novelty the act goes very well indeed and is therefore very satisfactory. 16 min. open full stage, close in one, 3 shows. Clark, Bergman & Mahoney. Two young fellows and a young girl in a singing and dancing act which scored very strongly. Their appearance is neat and their work effective. 11 min. in 1, 2 shows. Jim & [Jennie?] Joe. Jumping, principally upon the wire, other wire tricks also. The man is the whole act. He is one of the best wire walkers I have ever seen. The act was a [illegible] hit. 15 min. full stage, 3 shows. Julius Tannen. Monologue and imitations. Absolute knock-out. Mr. Tannen is as good a man in his line as there is in vaudeville today. In fact I might say he is probably the est. 22 min. and they wanted more -in 1, 2 shows. Carlyle Moore, Catherine Countiss & Co. In the romantic sketch "The Man's The Thing". The sketch is rather impossible, but very pleasing. It is well costumed and excellently acted by all the members of the company. The stage fight where the principal has a sword duel with two others, of course never could happen, but it is mighty effective nevertheless and had the audience right up to the highest point. The act is unquestionably a hit. 25 min. full stage, 2 shows. Bessie Wynn. Well known singing comedienne she scored fully as strongly here as she has in all the other houses, her dainty personality winning out. Miss Wynn will unquestionably draw money into the house. 20 min. of Hits. 2 shows in one. [Text is missing, hidden by leaf lying over it. Text continues:] offering and have added to it some of the strong-man work similar to Collins & Hart. They have some work that is now in that line and exceedingly funny. The first part of their act drags and I am having them cut it down somewhat, but the last is very funny indeed 12 min. full stage, 2 shows. They could possibly close in one with their old pole act. Motion Pictures. O. K.
