WHITE & STUART. The papers say it is his masterpiece sketch for it is logical headliner over all others. KELLY & ROSE. Singing Duo. 15 min. in 1. An excellent baritone and tenor, whose straight works, whether together or in solo, command serious attention from all parts of the house. Introduce some new songs which went very strong. These men have no superior in vaudeville. P PETER F. DAILY & CO. "Nearly A War Correspondent." 28 min. F.S. This is an acceptable head-line feature, though nothing of the top line class for a long run. While Dailey is more or less the whole thing, (without him the sketch would languish, I fear) nevertheless there is diversity and good lively songs and dances, and the act is beautifully costumed and set. Six girls appear alternately in cow-boy and scarlet Spanish costumes. Their work gets a good hand. Dailey takes the part of a war correspondent and organizes the Opera Buffe army into a union, teaching them to quit work at four o'clock. He gets into a mess over a woman, and the General of the island condemns him to death. Just as the guns are leveled at his breast and the time called our, the town-clock strikes four, and the army lay down their guns. This is a very laughable finish and brings good applause. JULIAN ELTINGE/ Impersonator. 14 min. in 1 1/2. Big advance applause. There is no doubt about this man being the greatest in his line, in the world. Everything he does is graceful and artistic. He is an artist to the finger-tips. Good applause for each one of his impersonations. His last--that of a little girl, in which he sings Vesta Victoria's school girl song,--got an immense hand, a certain call and a little speech. Greatest of its kind. METZETTI TROUPE. European Acrobats. 11 min. F.S. This is a splendid big act, an ideal closing feature fora big bill like this. There are six men, two women and a boy in the act. The last is dressed as a girl, to give the act more interest with the public. There work from start to finish was a phenomenal and got tremendous applause. The closing feat when the little boy threw his famous tripe somersaults froma a high pedestal to his brother's shoulders, got a whirlwind hand. A. A. 1. KINETOGRAPH. No. 1. Modern Painters. Very interesting foreign film. No. 2. Lost Umbrella. A great laugh to the finish. CLARENCE SISTERS. "The Australian Nuggets." A very neat little 3-a-day act. Both girls are dressed becomingly, but while the singing is not so very strong, the dancing is good. Got a very satisfactory hand. Safely recommend. 10 min. in 1. SWIFT & BRADLEY. Musical comedians. Black face musical comedians. Pla Play mandolins, guitars, freak violin, pipes etc. One works straight and theother eccentric. Both are good comedians and got a good many laughs out of the supper crowd. A very satisfactory act for any place in the early 2-a-day section. They were unfortunately placed to-day, owing to surfeit of features, but the crowd certainly appreciated their efforts to amuse them. In fact the supper-show was so brilliant that the jury remained to the last moment, and then expressed delight that even at this time of the day they should receive such a big value. 17 min in 1 sit up and take notice of the vaudeville situation here, with the contrast to the weak opposition of the Forrest, nothing else will. Every act works up with fine climatic effect, and patrons went away expressing themselves on all sides that "It is the greatest vaudeville show ever offered in Philadelphia." This means great business for the balance of the week. Note. William Cahill could not stand prosperity. Got drunk and got fired Tuesday morning.
