11. [[?]] SEPT. 23d, 07. [[underline]]CADIEU[[end underline]]X Wood, full stage. 10 min. Rope dancer. Very good among the three a days. This act was booked for three shows but positively refused to do three, saying there was a mistake in the contract, that he was booked for two. [[underline]]PHIL . BENNETT[[end underline]] - Italian Street singer. Olio in one 10 min. 3 shows. A very clever singing act - the yodling being above the average-much better than most of the acts doing three shows. I really think he is good enough to go on at 8:15. [[underline]]SILVERN & EMERIE[[end underline]]- Novelty aerial act. 10 min., wood. We were compelled to cut out the disrobing act of the lady member of the team. This is not a good act. [[underline]]THE HOLDSWORTHS[[end underline]]-Singing and dancing . 3 shows. 14 min. Olio. I have them on at 8:10 and they are going very well. [[underline]]VESSELLS AND HIS BAND of Forty[[end underline]]. 30 min. This is one of the best bands I ever heard. It is surely drawing us money and is going very big-. [[underline]]NORTON & NICHOLSON[[end underline]] in "Ella's All Right", full stage, kitchen. 21 min This act is too well known to need any comment and is going about the same as it did on its first appearance with us. [[underline]]ROSE DE HAVEN SEXTETTE[[end underline]] Open in one, closing full stage, 16 min. 4 min. in one. In my opinion there is only one thing that saves this act and that is the wardrobe. I consider it one of the best dressed acts we have ever played. The girls are not good singers-neither can they dance. [[underline]]SPISSELL BROS. & MACK[[end underline]] Comedy acrobatic act. Interior, special drop, 13 min. One of the best comedy acrobatic acts we have played. [[underline]]EDNA LUSY[[end underline]]- 16 mion. Olio. Imitations of Cohan, Dressler, Edna May and David Warfield. I think Miss Luby's imitation of David Warfield is undoubtedly the worst thing I have ever seen on stage. HOwever, it seems to go big with the audience and I guess that is about all we can ask. He rother imitations are fair. The act, taken as a whole, pleases She is not as good as her first appearance here. [[underline]]STELLA MAYHEW & CO[[end underline]]. 23 min, Interior, full stage. "It Happened in Utah", introducing Miss Mayhew, Mr. Taylor and Miss Laura Clement. The third member of this company is a great detriment to the act and could easily be done away with. I talked with Mr. Taylor on this matter and he thinks himself that it would improve the act to cut her out but is afraid that if he were to do so there would be some disappointment since he contracted for three people. Mr. Taylor does very well and Miss Mayhew is, of course, a big hit. I think she is undoubtedly one of the best women in vaudeville. [[underline]]GEO. WOOD[[end underline]]- Black face monologue. 18 min. in one. Mr. Wood is going good in a very hard place. [[underline]]ROSE WENTWORTH AND HORSES[[end underline]]12 min., full stage, 3 people. This act has undoubtedly gone back and would not care to play it again. CARROLL & CLARK-3 shows-olio in on, 14 min. A very good act. John P. Harris
