21 Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., Week of Sept. 26, 1907. (Chas. Lovenberg, Mgr.) The show didn't seem to play with much snap this afternoon. I am not sure whether it is the audience or the actors that were at fault. The bill in no sense compares with the greats how that we had last week although I can't say that it is bad. Nessen, Hunter & Nessen. Well-known club juggling act, two men straight, one comedy. All right for an early position in the S--a day section. 9 min. full stage, 3 shows. The Vaughners. Man and women, colored, singing, dancing and talking. Not up to the usual average colored act, even those doing 3 shows. 15 min. in 1, 2 shows. The Abbotts. This is a little act that I put in as a trial, consisting of a man, woman and a little girl, the little girl being the feature. She is very clever, in fact far the best of the three, but I don't think much of their vehicle. I wouldn't care to recommend the act for the circuit. 18 min. full stage, 2 shows. Olga Lorraine. Eccentric character comedienne. This woman made the first scoring of the performance. Went very well-indeed sufficiently so as to warrant placing her in a more important spot on the bill, if I had it. She is thoroughly safe up to 8.30 I should say. 10 min. in one, 3 shows. W. E. Whittle. This man has rather a pretentious production, carrying a scene representing an Army Camp, he himself made up as Roosevelt in Rough Rider Costume and some of the characters in soldier uniforms. He is a very good ventriloquist and got away in this position in good style. 18 min. full stage can close in one, I believe, 2 shows. Watermelon Girls. As I feared, this act fell down. We have had it too much and I can't understand why it was handed to me this season. The act is not up to what it was last season anyway; changes made not being for the better. 19 min. open in 2, close full stage, 2 shows. Wm. A. Dillon. Comic singer. An excellent act of its type. I prefer him to the Dillon Bros. I should say that he made the applause hit of the show this afternoon.15 min. in one, 2 shows. At the finish of his act he does an imitation of Jack Lorimer in Scotch costume which was a direct conflict with Semon's scotchman so I had him (Dillon) cut his out. I hardly think it helps his act anyway. Under general conditions think he is better off without it. Alfred Keley & Co. In "A Tale of a Turkey". I was somewhat disappointed in this act as to the players. In the sketch itself( the idea is especially good) I don't think Miss Guise meets all requirements or Keley is exceptionally good. 20 min. full stage, 2 shows. Burr McIntosh. I consider this a very interesting feature for any vaudeville program, and held the audience in good shape all through, but there was very little enthusiasm manifested and while he got a good hand at the finish, there was no recall. As I said in the open[[?]]... of this report, I believe the audience were somewh[[?]]... at fault. 30 min. in 1, 2 shows. Metsetti Troupe.
