Providence Reports, Week of October 7th, 1907. Charles Lovenberg, Manager. Katherine Bartlett A young woman who sings a couple of songs and tells a story or two, whom I cannot recommend very highly. She is all right for the early three-a-day section. Very attractive appearance. 10 min. 3 shows. In one. Earl & Bartlett Well-known Irish comedy sketch, which we used to have played by Kelly & Adams for some years before these people. They get away with it all right and it should be reckoned as a good three-a-day set. 15 Min. Full stage, 3 shows. Lonnie Follett This boy has some ability but his set is wasted in these towns because he has selected a lot of characters to impersonate that are entirely unfamiliar to our audiences. In the larger cities where Victoria, Tilley, Chavalier and Held have appeared he would have more value. Not very good here. 15 Min. in One, 3 shows. Harlem Brothers Comedy acrobatic set and a good one. They have a lot of new comedy ideas and could get bye very nicely in the early two-a-day section. Would be very valuable to open the show in the smaller two-a-day houses. 10 Min, 3 shows, Full stage. Harry Breen. Comic[[?]] singer, with a style copied somewhat after Bert Fitzgibbon, altho not as good. Goes very well, however, and makes good three-a-day set. 12 min. In One. Ameta If we could get one of these dancers of this type who could really dance it would help some. But from Papinta[[?]] down there are all as graceful as cows and I don't want any more of them. They have no further value for this house. 10 min. Full stage, 3 shows. Chas[[?]]. Wayne & Co. In "The Morning After". This is a lively vaudeville sketch introducing motion pictures and is a novelty in its way. It went first rate, altho it would be much better in the hands of a capable man. 33 Min. Open in one 10 Min. Can do a short close in one. 3 shows. Black & Jones Colored comedians and eccentric dancers. A very good act. Lots of life and go. 18 Min. in One, 3 shows. Middleton, spellmeyer & Co. "A Texas Wooing". This is quite a good sketch, fairly well played and given good satisfaction. I think they would do better to cut out the real Indian and let a capable white many play the part. However it pleased and that is all that is necessary. 21 Min. Full Stage, 2 shows. Frank Fogarty "The Dublin Minstrel". The hit of the show. 20 Min. in One, 3 shows. Derras Bros. Head balancers and acrobats. A most marvellous act, but somehow or other it doesn't seem to get much applause. I believe some of the other houses reported in the same way. 10 Min. Full Stage. 2 shows. Eltinge[[?]] Well-known impersonator who has the best set he has ever given us. 10 Min. 3 shows. I want to say that i had to have a fight with mr. Kitinge and give him the option of closing before he would do his set in One. As the set was offered me entirely in One and has been so at all times this season, I think it is well that managers should know this condition before taking him.
