OCTOBER 7, 1907. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. C.E. BARNS. THE RINALDOS, Hoop-rollers:- 15 min. F.S. 3 shows. On at 7:00. Man and woman making good appearance in a hoop-rolling act that s quite expert and well dressed. An acceptable opener if so placed. The work with the hoops on the strings was particularly good, although not new. Received a good closing hand. OVERING TRIO, Vocalists:- 15 min. in 1. 3 shows. on at 7:15. Three very clever children, two girls and a boy, the youngest a remarkable little artiste, - singing popular songs, and imitations. Made quite a hit in a diminutive way, and could hold a fairly good spot in the three-a-day section. DIAMOND & SMITH, Illus. Songs:- 18 min. in1. 3 shows. On at 7:30. This act improves with each engagement , but Diamond's voice deteriorates. The pictures are brilliantly colored and inspiring in theme. The fire picture and the war picture, both brilliantly done, and moving films, got strong hand. The finish was prolonged applause. This act represents the perfection of illustrated song-picture idea which is being a little overdone of late, but in nowise as brilliantly as these people who would make good anywhere in the early two-a-day section. Although the pictures are the thing, they should get a new soloist who has some expression to his voice ans does'nt sing through his nose. KENO, WALSH & MELROSE, Gymnastic:- 16 min. F.S. close in 1. 3 shows. On at 7:48. Three men, one working eccentric comedy, two straight. Well known on Circuit. Use tables, chairs, etc., and mat. Fairly good acrobatic work receiving some applause. The close in 1 much too long drawn out from the comedy stand point, but managed to get a fair hand at the finish. GRIFF, the Incomparable:- 23 min. F.S. close in 1. 3 shows. On at 8:04. This man is a genius in his work, He does not perrorm any very remarkable juggling feats but has an original line of talk that made good impression from the first and finally wins the house big. Dresses in clown costume and uses various simple juggling paraphenalia. FIVE MADCAPS, Dancers:-13 min. F.S. 2 shows. On at 8:36. Five pretty girls, becomingly dressed. Makes a very good impression with their sprightly eccentric dances. The song by one of the girls was no especially valuable to the act and was cut out after the first performance, but her dancing with the big rubber ball gets by very well. The finish is a novelone and gets a strong hand, with two curtain calls. This is a very good act for anywhere up to 8:45. ELIZABETH MURRAY, Vocaliste:- 13 min, in 1. 2 shows. On at 8:39. 2 Good advance hand. Sang three songs, one Irish, one German, one coon song, all well received, particular;y the last which was very cleverly given and won the house. As this is Miss Murray's home town, she is sure to draw people to the house. Closed well with three curtain calls.
