[[underline]]OCTOBER 14, 1907. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. C.E.BARNS. ROBERTSON & FANCHETTE[[end underline]], "Dago & the Lady":- 14 min. in 3. close in 1. 3 shows. This makes only a fairly good opener. Each appears in two changes of costume. The line of talk is fairly good and songs likewise, particularly the Italian dialect number. The woman's dancing falls short of requirements. Close with poor hand. On at 7:02. [[underline]]GERTRELLA[[end underline]]"Maid of the Rhine":- 14 min. Open in 1, close F.S. 2 shows. On at 7:15. Quarries her own drop which helps the act. Appears in very affective costume and sings two songs very indifferently. She then proceeds to the part of her act on the trapeze. This is good and gets repeated applause and very good finish, with a curtain call. She should be limited to the single song number in the opening of her act, as the soubrette part of her work is not up to the gymnastic. [[underline]]TOM MOORE[[end underline]], coon-shouter:- 12 min. in 1. 3 shows. On at 7:33. Good advance hand. This man is very popular in this town and always makes good. Closed well. [[underline]]ZISKA & KING[[end underline]],Magic:- 20 min. F.S. 2 shows. on at 7:45. This is a good act in the early two-a-day section. Ziska's impersonation of the late Alexander Herrmann adds greatly to the act. There is a good deal of expect magic, the comedy work of King keeps the audience in good humor. The stage setting is quite elaborate, and also adds to the value of the act. Not so strong an act as their previous one, the work being long drawn out and dull in spots. Closed well. [[underline]]JOHNSON & WELLS[[end underline]],col. Voc. & Danc:- 15 min. in 1. 2 shows. On at 8:05. This is a good colored act in one. The woman makes three changes of costume. Johnson is an excellent eccentric dancer and infuses the ginger into the act. The woman sings very well and dances likewise, but her particular claim to applause is that she is a swell dresser. Each one of their songs got good hand. Close, which included some excellent eccentric dancing, was good. Have gone back since they played here before. They try to imitate white people too much. [[underline]]THE FADETTES[[end underline]],Lady Orchestra:- 35 min. F. S. 2 shows. On at 8:20. Twenty-two performers and the leaders Little need be said about the welcome Mrs.Nichols and her orchestra received, for the Philadelphians are very fond of good music, and the Fadettes certainly give them the best. Some of the selections were more ambitious than she ever played here before, but she seems to have the orchestra in perfect control. Received rousing hand after each selection. Will surely draw strong this week. Closing hand after the Grand American Fantasia was a whirlwind with two curtain calls and an extra number. [[underline]]HARRY BULGER[[end underline]],Com:-10 min. in 1. 2 shows. On at 10:13. Appears in grotesque costumes and delivers his comicalities in his characteristic manner. The material was much the same as that which he used in the "Man from Now", and other of his later musical comedies and practically the same as delivered here some pretty strong. Will just about live up to his billing, but do not think he will leave any very strong impression.
