Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I. Week of October 28, 1907. (Chaz[[?]], Lovenburg, Mgr.) The bill this week is quite satisfactory and pleasing because of the great amount of comedy. Some of the acts are not all that is to be desired, but as a whole it is a good show. Milton's Dogs and Bar Act. This is a very decent little act for a unimportant place in the 3-a-day section. 13 Min. Full Stage, 3 Shows. Kitty Johnson. Vocalist. Miss Johnson has a pleasing personality and a nice voice and rendered her songs very acceptably. Should not be allowed, though to encourage the Gallery to sing with her because she is not able to get away with it. She needs watching also as to singing directly to people in the audience. She works it a little bit stronger than anything I ever saw and Miss Johnson was the cause of starting a little unruliness in our [[?]] Balcony - more than we have had in a long time. Miss Johnson is very independent young lady also, and walked in at five minutes after twelve for rehearsal and didn't seem to care much whether she [[?]] us or not. I think probably, after my conversation with her, that she will behave herself a little hereafter. 10 Min in One, 3 Shows. Sheck[[?]] Bros. Acrobats and hand balancers and one of the very best acts of the kind that we ever played. I am sorry I didn't know of their true value and I might have saved us some money on a big act. 10 min. Full stage, 3 Shows. Bailey & Fletcher. colored comedians, two men. Good lively act and in spots, made a big hit. 13 Min. in One, 3 Shows. 5 Piroscoffic. Juggling act. These people are not very adept jugglers, but the general spectacle is very good. They are very quiet in their work and five of them juggling with a lot of objects in the air, at one time, and that together with their very neat appearance, makes it as a whole, a good act. 9 min. Full stage, 2 Shows. Joe Deming. I can't see this man at all. The only time he lands is when he introduces a little [[?]]tiveness, not any of it very bad, but enough to help him out. His personality is extremely bad and it is an act that I wouldn't want to play again excepting in the 3-a-day section at a reduced price. 15 Min. in 1, 2 Shows. Carlotts. The "Human Dragon". This act has been described before and I can simply say that I consider it an excellent contortion act. 10 Min. Full Stage, 2 Shows. Weston & Young. Man and woman, talking and singing act. Most of their stuff is very deep and they seemed to go over the heads of the rainy-day maintenance audience yesterday, but did a little better at night. Their personality is good, but I think they are overpaid, even as prices go. 17 Min. in One, 2 Shows. Geo. Abel & Co. In "Three of a Kind". There is no good reason why Mr. Abel should be starred, because at least one of the other members of his company is better than he is and comes out stronger in the sketch. However, regardless of all that the act is a strong laughing one and made the biggest kind of a hit. 23 Min. Pull Stage, 2 Shows.
